Man tied up and dumped in Barnsley woods after robbery
A man was robbed and dumped in woodland with his hands and feet bound when he got into what he thought was a taxi after a night out.
The 35-year-old got into the vehicle after leaving a pub in Thurlstone, Barnsley, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He was driven to Leapings Lane and dragged out of the car before his watch, jewellery, mobile phone and cash was taken, and then tied up.
A member of the public found him.
South Yorkshire Police said he was picked up by two men who told him they were heading towards Darfield and would drop him off in Barnsley.
'Absolutely terrifying robbery'
But they dumped him in the woods after the robbery and drove back towards Rockside Road.
DC Fiona Bowling, from South Yorkshire Police, said: "This was an absolutely terrifying robbery on a man who was making his way home after a night out with friends."
He was taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia and his injuries are not thought be serious.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious activity involving a dark-coloured car in the area to get in touch.
