Organisers of Sheffield's Tramlines festival have revealed the first 15 artists for the 2014 event.

Katy B, The Cribs, The Wedding Present and Toddla T are among the headline acts confirmed for the festival, taking place from 25 to 27 July.

Organisers have also revealed a rise in ticket prices from £6 to £12 per day and from £15 to £28 for a weekend pass.

About 95,000 attended the event in 2013, down from 125,000 in 2012 when entry to the festival was free.

Sheffield City Council, which gave £42,000 to Tramlines last year, will not directly fund the event but has agreed to provide about £20,000 of support in kind.

This includes dedicated staff from the council's major events team, planning arrangements and the hire cost of the sites.

Tramlines introduced admission fees for the fist time last year.

Festival director Sarah Nulty said: "We have put the ticket price up this year. Whether we had council funding or not we were going to put the ticket price up.

"Every year we are asked for bigger and bigger acts and the only way we can do that is if we put the ticket price up."

Other artists confirmed to appear are Deap Vally, Gold Panda, The Gaslamp Killer, Benji B, Moxie, Jonwayne, Lewis Watson, Shy Nature, Blessa, Leon Vynehall and Levon Vincent.
