Man dies after being hit by a lorry in Doncaster

A man has died after being hit by a lorry on a dual carriageway in South Yorkshire.

A red Mercedes HGV hit the man on the A630 Balby Road in Doncaster at about 11:20 GMT on Saturday.

South Yorkshire Police said the man, who has not been named, was seriously injured and died later in hospital.

It is not known why the man was on the road, police said. The section of the road was closed for several hours after the incident.
