Sheffield man injured in 'drive-by shooting'

A man is in hospital after a "drive-by shooting" in Sheffield, police said.

The 27-year-old, from Sheffield, was shot in the leg at about 02:20 BST on Chadwick Road. He is said to be in a serious condition at Northern General Hospital.

South Yorkshire Police said there would be an increased police presence in the Manor Top area while the investigation into the shooting takes place.

Det Insp Martin Tate said he believed it was a "targeted" attack.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact the police.
