Concern over missing South Yorkshire Police detective

John Wilson Det Con John Wilson is said to be worried about issues at work

Fears are growing for the safety of a detective with South Yorkshire Police who has been missing since Wednesday morning.

Det Con John Wilson, who is based in Sheffield, is known to be worried about issues at work, the force said.

The 52 year old was last seen by his wife when she left their home in Ecclesfield for work.

The South Yorkshire force has appealed for anyone who has seen the officer to get in touch.

A force spokeswoman said he was believed to be driving his blue BMW car and could have a brown Labrador with him.

She said it was possible Det Con Wilson could be in Norfolk.

He is described as white, 6ft 2ins tall, slim and has a shaved head. He has a very gaunt face, and often wears a silver earring in one ear.

The spokeswoman said: "Anyone who believes they may know where John could be, or spots him, is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police urgently on 101."
