Eastwood man in court over Hoyland driveway attack

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with an attack that left another man critically ill in hospital.

The victim, 49, was assaulted after confronting a man on his driveway on Skiers View Road, Hoyland, on Sunday.

David Sindall, 33, from Eastwood, Rotherham, faces charges of burglary and causing grievous bodily harm, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

He was remanded in custody until 9 August when he is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court.

A police spokesman said the victim, who suffered head injuries in the attack, remained in a critical but stable condition at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
