Wath-upon-Dearne man held after women's bodies found

Police on Sandygate Police were called to the house on Sandygate on Monday evening

Two women have been found dead at a house in South Yorkshire.

Police started a murder inquiry after the women's bodies were found at the bungalow on Sandygate, Wath-upon-Dearne, on Monday evening.

A local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned. Witnesses have been urged to contact police.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place later to establish the cause of the women's deaths.

The house has been cordoned off while inquiries continue.
