Man in hospital after 'targeted' shooting in Doncaster

A 48-year-old man is being treated in hospital after he was shot in a "targeted attack", police have said.

Officers were called to Cantley Lane, Doncaster, at 21:25 BST on Wednesday following reports of gunshots.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: "A 48-year-old man was shot in what appears to be a targeted attack and is currently in hospital being treated for gunshot wounds."

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The spokeswoman added: "Forensic examination is currently being undertaken at the address and inquiries are underway to establish what exactly occurred at the location last night."
