M18 closed in South Yorkshire after death crash

A man was killed when he got out of his car following a crash on the M18 motorway and was hit by another vehicle.

The man, thought to be in his 50s, died after being involved in a collision in South Yorkshire at 07:00 GMT.

He was hit by another vehicle and several other cars then collided, police said.

The southbound carriageway was closed near Doncaster between junctions three and two until 16:00 GMT.

No other motorists were seriously injured.
