Three more people have been arrested over a shooting in Sheffield that left a man paralysed from the chest down.

South Yorkshire Police say the 45-year-old was shot in the shoulder in the London Road area on New Year's Day.

Three men aged 23, 27 and 28, all from Sheffield, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Thursday.

They have been released on bail, along with a fourth man, aged 26, who was arrested on Wednesday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Additional patrols continue in the London Road area while detectives actively seek a fifth man in connection with the incident."

The force urged anyone with information to come forward.
