A Doncaster man who crashed a stolen car into a tractor, killing his passenger, has been jailed.

Andrew McMinn, 20, of no fixed address, was being pursued by police on Station Road, Stainforth, on 21 May when he collided with the other vehicle.

Scott Stobbs, 19, from Stainforth, suffered serious injuries in the crash and died two days later.

McMinn was sentenced to eight years by Great Grimsby Crown Court after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.

He admitted charges including causing death by dangerous driving and aggravated vehicle taking without consent.

South Yorkshire Police said the driver of the tractor, which was travelling in the opposite direction, was not injured.

Sgt Andy Whittaker said: "These are very serious offences, which have resulted in the loss of a young man and left his family devastated."
