One person killed in M1 crash near Sheffield

One person has been killed and another seriously injured in a crash on the M1 near Sheffield.

The accident, which happened at around 18:00 GMT on Tuesday, closed a section of the southbound carriageway between junction 34 at Meadowhall and junction 33 at Catcliffe.

South Yorkshire Police said a vehicle left the main carriageway and ended up on its roof.

The road reopened after four hours at 22:30 GMT.
