Man critical after fight outside Lloyds bar in Sheffield

A 44-year-old man is critically ill in hospital after he was assaulted outside a bar in South Yorkshire.

Police said the fight happened outside Lloyds Cafe Bar on Division Street in Sheffield city centre at about 00:30 GMT.

The man, from Sheffield, was taken to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital with head injuries.

Det Ch Insp Natalie Shaw, of South Yorkshire Police, has appealed for witnesses to get in touch.
