Anthony Borrowdale jailed for rape of woman aged 88

Anthony Borrowdale Borrowdale will serve 13 years and six months in prison

A man from Barnsley has been jailed for 13 years following the rape of an 88-year-old woman.

Anthony Borrowdale, 56, of Copeland Road, Wombwell, admitted raping the woman, after breaking into the victim's home on 1 June.

Borrowdale was traced by police after a forensic examination of the scene.

The judge at Sheffield Crown Court sentenced Borrowdale to 13 years and six months imprisonment.
