Third arrest over Robert Hurdley pub death in Maltby

A third man has been by arrested by police investigating the murder of a father of three who died following a fight in a South Yorkshire pub.

Robert David Hurdley, 45, of Dinnington, suffered a head injury at the Don John pub in Maltby on Sunday night. He died at Rotherham Hospital.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and a public order offence on Thursday and bailed.

Daniel Gerrard, of Highfield Park, Maltby has been charged with murder.

He is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 24 January.

South Yorkshire Police said a a 35-year-old man arrested at the weekend for a public order offence had been released with no further action.
