Robert Hurdley pub death: Maltby man on murder charge

A 30-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a father of three who died following a fight in a pub in South Yorkshire.

Robert David Hurdley, 45, of Dinnington, suffered a head injury at the Don John pub in Maltby on Sunday night. He died at Rotherham Hospital.

Daniel Gerrard of Highfield Park, Maltby, was remanded in custody at Rotherham Magistrates Court earlier.

He is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 24 October.
