Sheffield man, 22, injured in city shooting

A 22-year-old man suffered gun shot wounds to his hand and arm in a shooting in Sheffield on Tuesday night.

South Yorkshire Police said they were called at 19:50 BST when the man went to a local accident and emergency department.

The shooting is thought to have taken place in the Burngreave Road area at around 19:00 BST.

Police have urged anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to come forward.

Ch Insp Iain Chorlton said: "There isn't a threat to the wider public."
