Boy, 9, seriously injured on bike in Rotherham

A nine-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a collision with a car in Rotherham.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident at about 18:10 BST on Thursday on Richmond Park Avenue.

The boy is reported to have left the pavement on his bicycle and collided with the front of a black Peugeot 307.

The boy suffered head injuries and multiple fractures and was taken to Sheffield Children's Hospital.

The 56-year-old male driver of the Peugeot was not injured.
