Rotherham recycling plant in administration

Sterecycle plant in Rotherham The plant opened in 2008 and was extended in 2012

A South Yorkshire-based recycling plant has gone into administration.

Sterecycle in Rotherham, where a worker died in 2011, said it had brought in the administrators after experiencing a "significant downturn in trading".

Michael Whinfrey was fatally injured in an explosion at the plant where more than 50 people are employed.

The plant opened in 2008 and was extended in January to treat 130,000 tonnes of waste a year, the company said.
