Wath-upon-Dearne shooting: Man hurt in 'targeted' attack

A man from South Yorkshire who was left in a critical condition after suffering a gunshot wound was the victim of a targeted attack, police believe.

Officers were called to a shooting at a house in Doncaster Road, Wath-upon-Dearne, at 20:40 BST on Thursday.

A 42-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition remains unchanged.

The shooting was an "isolated" incident and investigations were continuing, said South Yorkshire Police.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police.
