Wath-upon-Dearne shooting: Man critical in hospital

A man is in a critical condition after suffering gunshot wounds in South Yorkshire.

Police were called to reports of a shooting at a house in Doncaster Road, Wath-upon-Dearne, at 20:40 BST.

South Yorkshire Police said a 42-year-old man had been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A spokesman said armed officers were at the scene and there was no further threat to the public. The force has appealed for information.
