Driver dies after crashing into tree in Bolsterstone

A 38-year-old man has died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in South Yorkshire.

Police had responded to reports the man was causing damage to a Vauxhall Corsa in Stocksbridge at about 01:00 BST.

A spokeswoman said the driver, from Midhopestones, Sheffield, failed to stop for officers and a pursuit began before the police lost sight of him.

The car was then found off the road on Yew Tree Lane in Bolsterstone, where the driver had suffered fatal injuries.
