The girlfriend of a man who was murdered in a Sheffield nightclub on New Year's Day has made a tearful appeal for help to find his killer.

Father-of-two Joshua Green, 27, was stabbed on the dance floor at the Stars and Mayfair Suite on Queens Road.

Four men aged 18 to 22 were arrested and are due to answer bail in September.

Mr Green's girlfriend Aisha McNellie, 28, said: "We need help to bring us closure to this horrific situation."

'Contact us now'

Mr Green had a daughter, Jadore, now two, with Miss McNellie and an older son from a previous relationship.

Miss McNellie said: "I am in mourning not for myself but for my daughter who's going to grow up without a dad.

"I don't know how I'm going to tell her what has happened to her dad."

South Yorkshire Police are still trying to trace each of the 500 revellers who were in the club when the stabbing happened at about 02:45 GMT on 1 January.

Det Supt Terry Mann said: "We can't do this alone, obviously.

"I urge anyone who was there and has not been in contact with the police to contact us now.

"Those who choose to stay silent will not stop us trying to trace and interview them."
