Six arrested in Barnsley for attempted murder

Six people were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an 18-year-old Barnsley man died on Sunday, according to South Yorkshire Police.

The man was at a party on Pleasant View in Cudworth when he sustained burns on Saturday. He died in Pinderfields Hospital at about 23:40 BST on Sunday.

Three men, between 19 and 39 years old, and two teenagers have been bailed.

A 16-year-old female was released due to insufficient evidence.

The five bailed people are all from Barnsley.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The police would like to hear from anyone who has information about the incident.
