A 28-year-old man is in the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield after receiving serious gunshot wounds.
South Yorkshire Police said it received calls from the public at about 22:40 BST on Sunday after reports of shots on Eastern Drive in the city.
The wounded man was treated by emergency services on Farm Road.
Police have arrested a 25-year-old local man and have appealed to the public for anyone with information to come forward.
Litter fine warning to park users
