A father and son from South Yorkshire who detained a drink driver who had fled from the scene of an accident have been given an award for their courage.
Kevin Dixon, 45, and son Kiefer, 17, from Barnsley, followed Robert Barraclough after he collided with a vehicle on Lane Head Road, Cawthorne, on 20 November 2011.
The pair caught him in nearby woods after he had crashed for a second time.
They were both awarded a Commander's Commendation by South Yorkshire Police.
Barraclough, 59, a farmer from Penistone, was later disqualified from driving for three years and given a community service sentence.
Ch Supt Andy Brooke said he had "no hesitation" in awarding the pair the commendation in recognition of their courage and public service.
"This man was extremely drunk and aggressive and struggled with these men, but they still managed to restrain him until the police arrived," he said.
