A Sheffield film company has received 18 nominations at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA's).

Warp Films and its low-budget sister company Warp X had nominations for Tyrannosaur, Kill List and Submarine.

Warp X's Tyrannosaur headed the awards list, alongside Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, with seven nominations.

Kill List, also by Warp X, received six nominations while Warp Films' Submarine received five nominations.

A full list of the nominations can be found on the BIFA website.

The BIFA's were created in 1998 to celebrate independently-funded British film making.

Warp Films, launched in 2002, has been behind several award-winning films including Four Lions, which was shot in Sheffield, and Shane Meadows' This Is England.

The BIFA 2011 ceremony will take place in London on 4 December.
