Threatened bus routes in Somerset have been saved after a consultation conducted by the local authority.

Somerset County Council said hundreds of people responded to proposed changes and several routes will now be protected.

Routes to remain in operation include the number 11 Yeovil town bus, and the number 19 Bridgwater to Street service.

However the number 107 service from Luccombe to Minehead is still set to be discontinued.

Councillor Harvey Siggs said: "We have protected those bus services that are most important to people."

A full list of services reviewed in the consultation can be found at the Somerset County Council website.
