Man struck by taxi dies in road in Taunton

A man died when he was hit by a taxi in Taunton.

The 23-year-old, who lived in the Taunton area, was walking along the A358 at Obridge Viaduct at about 03:00 GMT on Sunday.

Police said he was struck by a vehicle driving from the Priorswood direction towards Taunton town centre.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the man was declared dead at the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses.
