Yeovil sexual exploitation investigation: Man charged

A 37-year-old man has been charged with rape as part of an investigation into the alleged sexual exploitation of girls and women in the Yeovil area.

Meetu Miah, of Earle Street, Yeovil, has also been charged with prostitution, false imprisonment and sex trafficking.

Two men aged 44 and 34 have also been arrested as part of the inquiry.

It follows a police investigation into alleged sex and trafficking offences that started in August.

Avon and Somerset Police has arrested 12 people to date, with four being charged.

One person has been released without charge and the other seven are on bail.
