Four sexual offences in Chard linked

A man suspected of four sexual offences in Chard in Somerset is being sought by police.

Police said a 73-year-old woman was walking her dog in Snowden Park on 27 November when a man exposed himself and inappropriately touched her.

Officers believe the same man grabbed a 13-year-old girl and exposed himself to two 15-year-old girls and a 77-year-old woman, all in the last six weeks.

None of the women was injured but they have been left shaken, police said.

'Avoid remote areas'

Avon and Somerset Police said the suspect is white, in his 20s, between 5ft 4ins and 5ft 8ins tall and of slim to medium build.

He is also described as having short dark hair and stubble and wearing glasses.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top or body warmer with a fur-edged hood, in two of the incidents.

Det Sgt Jon Hooper said officers believe the offender was "probably local to the area".

He said: "In light of the recent incidents, I would encourage people to avoid walking or jogging in remote areas after dark and sticking to well-lit streets and remaining vigilant at all times."
