Man sexually assaulted by group of men in Taunton

A man has been sexually assaulted by a group of around five men in Somerset, police have said.

The assault happened on a path between Greenway Road and Turner Road in Taunton at about midnight on Sunday.

The man in his 20s was led to the pathway before the attack by the men, who were wearing dark clothing, an Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said.

He added that officers wanted to hear from anyone in the area between midnight and 02:00 GMT.

Det Insp Becky Jarvis said it was "an extremely unusual incident and we have launched a full investigation into the circumstances".
