Boy, three, killed by tractor on Somerset farm

A three-year-old boy has died after he was hit by a tractor on a farm in Somerset.

South West Ambulance Service said it sent three crews and an air ambulance to the scene in Whatley, near Frome, just after 10:30 GMT on Tuesday.

The boy was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath. He arrived just after 13:00 but later died.

An investigation is being carried out by Avon and Somerset Police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

A spokesman for the HSE said: "We've started the investigation and an inspector has been to the site."
