Tintinhull solar farm plan rejected by district council

Plans for a 60-acre (24 hectare) solar farm near a Somerset village have been thrown out despite being recommended for approval.

The six megawatt site was planned for the outskirts of Tintinhull alongside the A303 in the south of the county.

The National Trust, Tintinhull and Ash parish councils and the Ham Hill Countryside Team all opposed the plans due to the visual impact.

The decision was made by South Somerset District Council on Wednesday.
