Tropicana options explored by Somerset council

The future of a derelict seaside swimming pool in Weston-super-Mare is to be explored by councillors.

North Somerset Council will investigate if the current plans to redevelop the Tropicana are viable.

Trop WSM was given planning consent to restore the pool and create leisure facilities there, even though the council wanted to demolish it.

After the demolition was blocked by ministers, the council, which owns the site, was told to review its options.

The working party will also look at the council's overall financial position and the potential risks of redevelopment.
