A village hall in Radstock has partially re-opened after a £660,000 revamp project.

Victoria Hall was closed in May after a survey found its electrical system presented a "a clear danger of fire or risk of death".

The ground floor is complete so two dance studios, gallery space, and a new pop-up coffee bar are now open for use.

New electrics, toilets and a gas central heating system are being installed in the building.

The second phase will see the first floor restored to show off original Victorian architectural features which had been covered up over the years.

A number of community clubs and organisations have already signed up to use the building for arts and drama use.

The building project is expected to be fully complete by December.
