A37 crash: One person dead and two injured in five-vehicle collision

One person has died and two people have been seriously injured in a crash involving five vehicles in Somerset.

The accident on Tuesday afternoon on the A37 between Shepton Mallet and Podimore, on Wraxhill Hill near Stone, left the road closed until midnight.

Specialist rescue equipment was used by fire crews and two air ambulances were also sent to the scene.

Avon and Somerset Police said two people remain in a serious condition in hospital.
