Bath road sign work, costing £1.2m, begins

Fourteen new road traffic signs are being installed around Bath at a cost of £1.2m.

The signs are wanted by Bath and North East Somerset Council to provide better information about incidents, events, car parking and park and ride schemes.

Eight of the signs will be placed outside the city to give a variety of messages whilst the remaining six will give central parking information.

The work is being done as part of the £27m Bath Transportation Package.

The authority said the £1.2m cost will include the signs, installation, and the electronic system.

"The council will save around £20,000 per year from no longer needing temporary messaging signs," a spokesperson said.
