Work begins on Weston-super-Mare parking guidance system
Work has begun on a new parking guidance system in Weston-super-Mare which is designed to make it easier for drivers to find available spaces.
The local authority said "electronic variable signs and static signage" would be displayed at key locations on routes into the town to show spaces.
The £227,500 project is being partly funded by developer contributions and government transport grants.
North Somerset Council said the work was due to be completed by mid April.
Councillor Elfan Ap Rees, deputy leader and executive member for highways, said: "We hope this system will help both visitors and residents to find convenient off road car parking spaces more easily, reducing circulatory traffic in the town and further supporting town centre retailers."
