Pedestrian hit by car in Radstock dies

A man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Radstock in the early hours.

Avon and Somerset Police said they believed the pedestrian was lying in the road when he was hit by the vehicle.

Officers said they were called to the incident on the A367, near to the Bath Road service station hand car wash, at 04:20 GMT.

The man suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. The road was closed for an investigation.

Police have so far been unable to confirm the man's identity and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

He has been described as white, of medium build, and between 5ft 8ins (1.72m) and 5ft 10ins (1.8m) tall.

He was wearing a navy blue coloured shirt with red and white dots, jeans and smart black shoes.
