Man seriously injured in Minehead house fire

House fire in Minhead Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the fire in Bowsprit Close on Friday evening

A man has been seriously injured in a house fire in Minehead in Somerset.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said a neighbour alerted them to the fire at the property in Bowsprit Close on Friday evening.

A spokesman said five fire engines attended the scene and a man was rescued from the property and treated by paramedics.

He said the property was "completely damaged" by the fire, and the cause will be investigated.
