Clevedon Pier visitor centre plans on display to public
Plans for a new £1.6m visitor centre at the grade I-listed Clevedon Pier in Somerset are to go on display to the public.
The proposed glass structure was given planning permission last year.
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has passed it through stage one of its funding application, which would provide half the cost if successful.
Chairman Simon Talbot-Ponsonby said: "It's a very exciting project."
Facilities will include a cafe, toilet and a meeting and education space.
The HLF bid would provide £675,000 of the project's total cost, with the rest made up from local councils and donations from charitable trusts and the public.
The plans are to go on display to the public at the Tollhouse on the pier.
