A man who died in a crash involving a stolen car following a police chase in Shropshire has been named.
Stefen Boswell, 20, from Wolverhampton, was driving the car when it hit a lamp post on the A5 near Atcham at 02:15 BST on Friday, police said.
West Mercia Police said the car had been reported stolen in a burglary in Craven Arms at about 02:00 BST.
The force said it had referred the crash to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
An inquest into Mr Boswell's death would be opened in due course, police said.
A 19-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to University Hospital North Staffordshire suffering from head, facial and suspected spinal injuries.
The crash caused tailbacks that lasted more than six hours after the A5 was closed.
