West Mercia Police officer Vinod Kumar Dahiya denies rape

A West Mercia Police officer has denied two counts of rape and one count of common assault.

PC Vinod Kumar Dahiya, who has been suspended from the force, is accused of committing the rapes in May and June last year.

The 44 year old, of Wallett Drive in Muxton, entered the not guilty pleas at Stafford Crown Court. He was bailed ahead of his trial on 7 July.

The force said the alleged offences did not take place while he was on duty.
