Nature reserve manager Joan Daniels appointed MBE

Dr Joan Daniels of Natural England Dr Joan Daniels has worked on projects to help to save Shropshire's peat bogs

The manager of a Shropshire nature reserve has been appointed MBE in the Queen's Birthday honours list.

Dr Joan Daniels, from the Fenn's Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses reserve, near Whitchurch, has been recognised for her services to nature.

For his services to pallative medicine at Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury, Dr Jeremy Johnson has become an MBE.

Helen Purchase has been appointed MBE for her charity and community work in Albrighton and Donington.
