Shrewsbury to Birmingham trains suspended by engineering works

All trains between Shrewsbury and Birmingham have been cancelled after engineering works overran.

London Midland and Arriva Trains Wales said their services were expected to be suspended all day.

Network Rail said staff had encountered problems during engineering in Wolverhampton at the weekend and further work was needed on Tuesday night.

Buses are due to run between Telford Central and Wolverhampton.

London Midland said a shuttle train would operate between Shrewsbury and Telford Central throughout the day.

Network Rail, which is responsible for signalling and infrastructure, apologised and advised passengers to check with National Rail Enquiries before travelling.
