A 19-year-old has been remanded in custody charged with murder following the death of a man in Shropshire.

Robert Barlow, 64, died from serious injuries in Reabrook Avenue, Shrewsbury, at 22:50 BST on Saturday.

Jordan Lawson, of Stephenson Drive in the town, has been charged with murder, intimidating a witness and four counts of robbery.

Shrewsbury Magistrates' Court remanded him in custody to appear before a judge in Stafford on Friday.

West Mercia Police said a 37-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, had been released on bail.

In a statement Mr Barlow's family said he was a "quiet, gentle man with many eclectic interests".
