Two arrested after man's death in Shrewsbury

Two people have been arrested over the death of a man found with serious injuries near a Shropshire retail park.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, after the 64-year-old man was found on Reabrook Avenue near to the Old Potts Way retail park in Shrewsbury on Saturday evening.

The other person arrested, a 37-year-old woman, was held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police said investigations were under way to establish a cause of death.

The man was found with serious injuries at just after 22:50 BST. He received emergency medical treatment but was pronounced dead by paramedics.

He is yet to be formally identified, West Mercia Police said.
