Work has been completed on the first phase of a multi-million pound regeneration in part of Telford.

The £2.3m revamp has seen a new supermarket and retail units built in Hadley, which Telford and Wrekin Council hope will help kick-start the local economy.

Similar schemes have already been completed in Wellington and Dawley, with work ongoing in Brookside.

Hadley's new centre is due to be officially opened on 1 June.

John Smart, chair of the parish council, said the work had "lifted the feel" of the area.

Some businesses have already moved into the new units, while others are expected to follow later under phase two of the project, which is due to start in the summer.
