Telford and Wrekin civic offices demolition begins

Demolition has begun of former civic offices which will become the site of a new supermarket in Shropshire.

Last year Telford and Wrekin Council moved out of the building where it had been based since 1976.

The site in Telford has been sold to Asda, and council staff are transferring to buildings across the borough at a cost of £5m.

Moving to Addenbrooke House will help it to save office space and more than £2m a year, the authority said.
